Raising awareness about young homeless people in and around London

Information and Statistics

  • In London, over 450 hostels provide around 19, 600 beds for single homeless people
  • Three main types of accommodation have developed in London to provide accomodation for rough sleepers:

1.       Direct access hostels and shelters- the first port of call for many of those leaving the streets;

2.       Specialist hostels to meet specific and higher multiple needs;

3.       Permanent move on accomodation- for former rough sleepers to move into when they are ready to sustain a tenancy.
